Woman dead after shots fired on East Trinity Lane

NASHVILLE, Tenn. (WKRN) — A homicide investigation is underway after a woman was shot in the Talbot’s Corner neighborhood of Nashville Friday morning.

The shooting happened around 10:15 a.m. on Friday, Aug. 16 in the 100 block of East Trinity Lane. Officers said they responded to a shots fired call and found an unidentified woman with gunshot wounds on a porch.

According to the Metro Nashville Police Department, witnesses said an unknown man with dark clothing and a mask came into the home where the woman and her boyfriend lived, fired several rounds at the boyfriend, and shot the victim multiple times on the front porch. The woman was taken to TriStar Skyline Medical Center in critical condition, but she later died.

Meanwhile, the woman’s boyfriend — who was not hit by the gunfire — and another witness followed the suspect as he ran towards Meridian Street before they lost sight of him, officials reported.

Authorities said the Medical Examiner’s Office is working to identify the woman through her fingerprints.

No additional details have been released about this case, which is under investigation by detectives from MNPD’s Homicide Unit.
