    Hendersonville police arrest suspected serial thief

    HENDERSONVILLE, Tenn. (WKRN) — Hendersonville police have apprehended a serial thief who allegedly stole vehicles out of both Hendersonville and Nashville.

    On Aug. 9, Hendersonville police said they received a report about two suspicious individuals in the 100 block of Monthaven Boulevard. When they arrived at the scene, they found one vehicle that had been burglarized and another vehicle that was unoccupied but had been left running.

    That unoccupied vehicle was discovered to be stolen out of Nashville, police said. Authorities then received another report of a stolen vehicle from the same block of Monthaven Boulevard during that same time frame. The second stolen vehicle was later recovered from Nashville.

    Authorities identified 18-year-old Malik T. Dobbins of Nashville as a suspect and obtained warrants for his arrest. Dobbins was arrested in Nashville on Aug. 15 without incident. Dobbins has been charged with:

    • Theft over $10,000
    • Theft over $2,500
    • Burglary
    • Theft under $1,000

    Dobbins is scheduled to appear in a Sumner County courtroom on Aug. 28.
