CUMBERLAND COUNTY, Tenn. (WKRN) — A woman who went missing in Cumberland County nearly two months ago was found dead in a Kentucky lake Saturday afternoon, authorities said.

The Tennessee Bureau of Investigation (TBI) issued a Silver Alert on Aug. 2 for 69-year-old Roxanne Gallagher, who was last seen in late June along Dogwood Road. Officials said Gallagher had a medical condition that could impair her ability to return home without help.

At the time the alert was issued, authorities said Gallagher may have been driving a maroon 2000 Buick LeSabre with Tennessee plate BGR-9782.

Just over two weeks later, on Saturday, Aug. 17, the TBI announced Gallagher was found dead in Lake Cumberland in Kentucky.

“Her loved ones are in our thoughts,” the bureau wrote on social media.

No additional details have been released about the circumstances surrounding Gallagher’s disappearance or the discovery of her body.
