Four kittens abandoned in Marshall County trash compactor

MARSHALL COUNTY, Tenn. (WKRN) — Four kittens were thrown into a trash compactor in Marshall County.

Thanks to an employee and an animal rescue, the kittens are getting stronger every day. That litter has since been bottle fed by Brandy Fox, the director of Lucky’s Cat House.

“They’re about four weeks old and [they’re] still going to need a little bit of bottle feeding, so they came to me,” Fox said.

The kittens were found in a dumpster at a Marshall County Convenience Center.

“It was a sad situation,” Fox added. “Luckily, he caught it in time before he hit the button to smash them.”

Fox said that the employee at the dump who rescued them called her about it. There isn’t a police report, but Fox suspected that the kittens were thrown there on purpose.

“The attendant there at the convenience center said this is the second batch of kittens that have been thrown in the compactor, so that tells us that it could have been purposeful,” Fox said.

The employee added that there were two other cats that ran away from the site. He’s left food out for them in case they return.

“Cats are wonderful,” Fox said. “They can be very independent, but very loving at the same time.”

Fox said that Marshall County Animal Control is only open to dogs.
