GALLATIN, Tenn. (WKRN) — Police in Gallatin have charged a man and woman on domestic assault charges after a disturbance led to shots being fired late Monday night.

The Gallatin Police Department said the incident took place just after 11:30 p.m. at a home in the 200 block of E Park Street on Monday, Aug. 26.

Authorities reported Sabrina Brummett and Vinson Williams were engaged in an altercation when Williams grabbed a firearm and fired two rounds inside the home.

Shortly after, Brummett left the home, drove to a gas station in the 600 block of South Water Street and asked to use a phone. While driving back to her residence, she allegedly observed Williams walking down the street carrying their dog.

Police said Brummett demanded that Williams give her the dog. Instead of giving the dog back, Williams told Brummett to shoot him since he knew she was armed, officials said. As a result, Brummett shot him in the foot.
