HENRY COUNTY, Tenn. (WKRN) — Members of multiple law enforcement agencies teamed up Friday to track down a wanted man in Henry County.

The Henry County Sheriff’s Office said it responded to Cypress Road and Otts Road on Friday, Aug. 30 after receiving a tip that Richard Sager — who had active arrest warrants for criminal attempt to commit second-degree murder stemming from a prior incident — was seen in the area.

When authorities got to the location, they said they located Sager’s vehicle and had reason to believe he ran off just before they arrived.

Through a coordinated effort between the Henry County Sheriff’s Office, Tennessee Highway Patrol (THP) and its Aviation Unit, the Calloway County Sheriff’s Office, the Tennessee Wildlife Resources Agency, Tennessee state park rangers, and the emergency management agency (EMA), officials said they set up a containment perimeter and took Sager into custody within about four hours.

The Henry County Sheriff’s Office thanked all of the law enforcement agencies involved in the search, saying, “Through the quick response of all agencies and the use of THP Aviation Unit and drone usage by EMA, law enforcement was able to apprehend Sager without incident.”

No additional details have been released about the circumstances surrounding Sager’s arrest or the incident that led to him being wanted for attempted murder.
