1 dead, 2 charged after shooting at Smyrna gas station

SMYRNA, Tenn. (WKRN) — A man is dead and two people are in custody after what police are calling a “planned attack” at a Smyrna gas station Wednesday night.

The Smyrna Police Department said the shooting took place around 11 p.m. at the BP station in the 200 block of N. Lowry Street.

Authorities reported a juvenile suspect attempted to rob 54-year-old Harlon Webb in the gas station’s parking lot. In addition, police said the incident was a planned attack.

Webb was pronounced dead at a local hospital, officials said. Meanwhile, a juvenile and a man — identified as Rocky Melton — were charged for their connection to the crime.

Police said an investigation into the deadly shooting remains ongoing. No other information was immediately released.
