NASHVILLE, Tenn. (WKRN) — A Nashville woman who claimed that an unknown man killed her boyfriend in a deadly Bellshire-area shooting lied, according to Metro police.

Police said that 24-year-old Jyala Hall admitted in a Thursday interview with homicide detectives that she was the one who shot through the rear door of the residence. Hall added that she and the victim, 23-year-old Brandon Calloway, had been engaged in an argument on the night of August 10.

Initially, Hall reportedly told officers that she arrived at the home, parked and waited for Calloway to let her in since she had recently lost her key. That’s when she said that an unidentified person appeared and fired a shot through the home’s back door. She allegedly told detectives that she fired a round from her own gun toward the suspect, who fled toward a wood line.

Nashville police added that the continuing investigation led detectives to doubt Hall’s initial story. Hall is being booked on a criminal homicide charge.
