CLARKSVILLE, Tenn. (WKRN) — Close to two decades after a Fort Campbell soldier was murdered outside a Clarksville nightspot, investigators are still looking for the person responsible.

It was around 2:30 a.m. on a Saturday morning in September 2006 when officers with the Clarksville Police Department were called to the River’s Edge nightclub. A bystander reportedly dialed 911 to let authorities know someone had been shot in the parking lot.

When they arrived, police found 21-year-old Edwin Mathurin dead. Edwin, who was originally from Missouri, was serving as a soldier in the U.S. Army and was stationed at Fort Campbell at the time of his death.

Investigators believe a fight may have led up to the shooting. However, other details surrounding the incident are murky. To this day, his murder remains unsolved, with Monday, Sept. 2 marking 18 years without answers.

As the search for Mathurin’s killer continues, his case is now among a handful of unsolved murders in which tipsters could be eligible for a reward of up to $10,000.

In order to be eligible for the reward, the information provided must lead to the arrest and conviction of the person responsible for the crime.

Anyone who has any information related to Mathurin’s death is asked to call Crime Stoppers at 931-645-TIPS , or go to www.p3tips.com , and leave a tip online. All tipsters remain anonymous.
