NASHVILLE, Tenn. (WKRN) — A man and woman face felony charges for their connection to a carjacking that occurred along Dickerson Pike in August, police said.

The incident took place in the 3100 block of Dickerson Pike on Saturday, Aug. 31, according to an arrest report.

Officers with the Metro Nashville Police Department (MNPD) said they were sent to the area after receiving reports about a possible carjacking.

The victim allegedly told police that he was sitting in his vehicle when a man approached him on a bicycle and pulled out a knife. That’s when the victim and male suspect engaged in a physical altercation.

During the fight, the victim told police a woman got into the passenger side of his vehicle and tried to take his wallet. Police reported the male suspect was able to pull the victim out of the vehicle and drove off.

Nearly a week after the incident, detectives found the victim’s vehicle outside a Walmart located in the 3400 block of Dickerson Pike, which is just a few minutes away from where the carjacking occurred.

Inside the vehicle, detectives found 24-year-old Christa Adkins and 23-year-old Chase Hyde, who reportedly matched the suspect descriptions.

During an interview, Adkins allegedly admitted that she and Hyde took the victim’s vehicle away from him.

Adkins was charged with felony carjacking in addition to failure to appear warrants, which stems from a previous incident where she was charged with joyriding. She remains jailed on a $79,500 bond.

Meanwhile, Hyde was charged with felony carjacking and burglary. He is being held in Metro Jail on a $77,500 bond.
