NASHVILLE, Tenn. (WKRN) — A man wanted for reportedly kidnapping and beating a woman in Nashville last year is now behind bars.

Djuanteze Ransom, 31, was arrested and booked into jail on Wednesday, Sept. 11 on four outstanding warrants. The charges against him include especially aggravated kidnapping, aggravated assault with serious bodily injury, domestic assault and burglary of a motor vehicle.

Court documents show those charges stem from two separate incidents, with the first dating back to Jan. 12, 2023. In an arrest affidavit, Metro Nashville police said they responded to a nightclub off of Hampton Street after a woman was allegedly assaulted.

The woman told officers that the suspect, identified as Ransom, bit her ear and punched her in the face after becoming aggravated while drinking. He reportedly ran off as she was calling 911.

Investigators noted seeing “bright red blood” in the parking lot, as well as multiple injuries to the woman’s face and ear. According to the affidavit, the woman’s ear and mouth were bleeding and one of her front teeth had been knocked out.

Several months later, on Oct. 8, 2023, police said Ransom was linked to another incident involving the same woman. The woman said she was trying to get into her vehicle when Ransom reportedly walked up behind her with a kitchen knife and demanded she take him to Nashville.

The woman complied and Ransom reportedly continued holding the knife as she drove. Once they arrived in Nashville, authorities said Ransom got out of her car and entered another vehicle that was being driven by one of his family members.

Court records show Ransom has a history of domestic assault, with multiple previous convictions. He was reportedly on the run until his arrest this week. As of Thursday, Sept. 12, he was still jailed in lieu of a $75,000 bond.
