    Gas line ruptured by Murfreesboro construction crews

    MURFREESBORO, Tenn. (WKRN) — Crews with Murfreesboro Fire Rescue Department (MRFD) have cleared the scene of a ruptured gas line at the corner of Medical Center Parkway and Livy Dearing Place.

    According to MFRD, construction crews accidentally hit the line while working. Atmos Energy crews are working to cap off and repair the line, MRFD said.

    Firefighters checked the air quality outside and in nearby businesses to make sure no fumes made their way inside.

    Westbound traffic on Medical Center Parkway had been rerouted onto Livy Dearing Place and onto Robert Rose Drive, MRFD said.

    MRFD and police later cleared the scene, according to a Thursday afternoon Facebook post from the Murfreesboro Police Department.
