Authorities reported an investigation indicates that a Nissan Rogue was traveling southbound on Dickerson Pike and entered a center lane in an attempt to turn left into the parking lot of a shopping center.

However, the Nissan was struck head-on by Ford pickup truck that was traveling northbound, which led the Nissan to collide into a Dodge Charger. Police added that the pickup truck was then rear-ended by a Lexus SUV.

The driver of the Nissan — identified as 26-year-old Noah Diego Hugo Villarce– was taken to Skyline Medical Center where died, police said. Meanwhile, his nine-month-old daughter was taken to Vanderbilt with minor injuries and reunited with her mother.

According to MNPD, the drivers of the Ford pickup truck and Dodge Charger were taken to Skyline Medical Center with non-life-threatening injures. The driver of the Lexus SUV and her 11-year-old son were also treated for minor injures.

The preliminary cause of the deadly crash was determined to be “failure to yield on behalf of Villarce,” police said.

No further information was immediately released.
