NASHVILLE, Tenn. (WKRN) — One of Nashville’s “Most Wanted” fugitives is in custody after allegedly chasing a woman down in her car and shooting at the victim’s vehicle.

Quierra Spear, 27, was wanted on outstanding warrants for two counts of aggravated assault with a deadly weapon, reckless endangerment and vandalism, according to the Metro Nashville Police Department.

The charges all stem from a July 27 shooting in which investigators said Spear was identified as a suspect. A woman told detectives she had gotten into an argument with Spear earlier that day while at a home on Alameda Street.

The woman eventually got into her car and left, according to an arrest affidavit. In the car with her were two children — a 15-year-old and a 2-year-old. As she was driving, the woman said she noticed Spear was following her in a blue Nissan.

The two drivers weren’t far from Tennessee State University’s football stadium when Spear reportedly pulled to the right side of the woman’s vehicle and opened fire. Officials said two rounds hit the front passenger side door, with one shattering the window.

In the arrest affidavit, detectives noted that the woman and the two children were “all within feet of being hit.”

The woman was able to provide police with a phone number, address and social media accounts for the suspect, who officials said was later identified as Spear through a photo lineup.

Spear was added to the police department’s list of “Most Wanted” fugitives on Aug. 7 as the search for her whereabouts continued. Then, authorities said they were able to track her down late Thursday night.

Jail records show Spear was booked into jail just past midnight on Friday, Sept. 13. She is being held in lieu of a $36,000 bond.

Spear is among at least 134 “Most Wanted” fugitives who have been taken into custody since the program was launched in October 2022. Investigators have largely attributed the program’s success to tips they’ve received from the public.
