Woman missing out of Montgomery County found dead, deputies say

MONTGOMERY COUNTY, Tenn. (WKRN) — An 80-year-old woman who went missing in Montgomery County Sunday morning has appeared to have passed away from natural causes, authorities said.

The Montgomery County Sheriff’s Office said asked for the public’s assistance in locating 80-year-old Retta Bluedorn on Sunday, Sept. 15.

Authorities reported she was last seen at a home in 2500 block of Highway 48 around 9 a.m. and left in a blue Ford Explorer.

The sheriff’s office said Bluedorn may have exhibited signs of dementia.

Just hours after alerting the public about her disappearance, deputies announced that the Clarksville Police Department found Bluedorn dead in the parking lot of a business on Wilma Rudolph Blvd.

According to the Montgomery County Sheriff’s Office, Bluedorn’s passing appeared to be of natural causes.

“Our condolences go out to the family and friends of Ms. Bluedorn during this difficult time. We appreciate the outpouring of support from our community and will continue to serve our residents in helping to locate our missing loved ones,” wrote the sheriff’s office.

No other information was released.
