NASHVILLE, Tenn. (WKRN) — A call from a citizen reporting “suspicious” people in a neighborhood off Lebanon Pike led police to discover a stolen vehicle and drugs over the weekend.

Portia Richards, 23, and Steven Brown, 26, were arrested Sunday on multiple charges involving a stolen vehicle, possession of drugs and outstanding warrants.

According to an arrest report, police responded to a call from a concerned citizen about two people in a car “acting suspicious” near the 700 block of Rivercrest Pass on Sunday, Sept. 15.

Officers attempted to perform a traffic stop on the car when the driver, Brown, reportedly tried to drive away from the scene before turning the car around.

When police approached the car, they observed that it had a stripped steering wheel, a broken back window and had been painted green.
