WILSON COUNTY, Tenn. (WKRN) — “No other loved one needs to be killed on this road. It’s senseless to me,” Robby Miler said.

A Middle Tennessee man is urging drivers to slow down after he lost two loved ones on State Route 109 in Wilson County .

According to Tennessee Highway Patrol (THP), a speeding driver was passing traffic in the center lane, rear-ended a car, before hitting another car head-on and killing a husband and wife.

“Two weeks after they started dating, he told me ‘I’m getting married next week’ and I said the heck you are,” Miler said.

Miler said when his father, Freddy, met Faye over a decade ago. “They had the best time, they danced. It’s like they’ve been together all their lives.”

They shared a love for music. Faye would sing and Freddy would play. He even handcrafted his own instruments.

On September 6, they were on their way to camp to play bluegrass and were driving on SR 109.

“My dad took this road because he would say, ‘Robby I don’t like taking the interstate because it’s dangerous to me.’ But then you look at this road and its more dangerous than the interstate,” Miler said.

According to a THP crash report, a speeding driver was passing traffic in the center lane when the driver rear-ended one car then traveled into the opposite lane and crashed into Freddy and Faye’s car head-on.

“Very preventable,” Miler said. “These people fly up these roads doing 80 miles per hour when the speed limit is 55.”

Miler said because of reckless drivers, he would like to see more law enforcement and traffic lights on the stretch of road. “No one needs to go through what we’ve been through, and I hope somebody does something.”

As Miler’s family waits for justice, he said there’s now an empty hole in his heart.

“And I said this during his funeral, I got up and spoke and I said if this world had more Freddy Milers in it, then the world be a better place.”

According to THP, charges are pending the investigation.

Sorry for your losses Robby Miler. I heard about this and had to detour through Nashville on my way to Gallatin. And you’re correct most all accidents are preventable if only people would PAY ATTENTION!!

That sweet couple just enjoying life and some irresponsible fool took that from them and their families and it should have never happened. For those of you who are arrogant and irresponsible think you rule society think again the only thing you rule your own ignorance.
