MADISON, Tenn. (WKRN) — An investigation is underway after a woman was dropped off at a Nashville hospital with a gunshot wound.

The woman was dropped off at TriStar Skyline Medical Center around 2:30 a.m. with a gunshot wound to her right leg.

She told officers she heard gunshots while riding as the passenger of a vehicle and realized she was hit in the leg.

The driver and rear passenger who dropped her off at the hospital did not stay to give a statement.

Officers discovered a vehicle they believe to be involved at an apartment building on Skyline Ridge Drive. Video from the scene shows the car had multiple bullet holes in the windshield and body, as well as a missing front tire.
