Trousdale County Sheriff’s Department investigates online threat to high school

TROUSDALE COUNTY, Tenn. (WKRN) — The Trousdale County Sheriff’s Department is investigating an online threat made to a county high school, according to social media.

On Wednesday at roughly 7 p.m., the sheriff’s department received reports of a social media threat directed at the high school, according to a Facebook post .

“School Administrators, along with the Tennessee Office of Homeland Security, have been notified,” the post reads, in part. “The online threat is currently under investigation.”

The sheriff’s department went on to say that at this time, there is no evidence to suggest an actual physical threat to the high school. An update on the Trousdale County Schools website said that further information would be shared with families should the threat be elevated.

There was a brief lockdown at Trousdale County High School on Monday and a teen was charged with illegal possessing firearms. Districts in Cannon, Trousdale, Franklin, Humphreys, Macon, Warren, and Davidson counties have all been impacted by threats recently, with some incidents prompting schools to go on lockdowns within the past few weeks.
