    2 stabbed at East Nashville bar

    NASHVILLE, Tenn. (WKRN) — Two men were injured in a stabbing incident at a bar in East Nashville Wednesday night.

    It happened at The Cobra on Gallatin Avenue just after 11 p.m.

    Metro police reported the two victims were taken to Vanderbilt University Medical Center for treatment. They are both expected to recover from their injuries.

    A 43-year-old man was taken into custody for stabbing them men, who were attempting to break up a fight involving James Smith.

    Smith ran away from the bar to the Walgreens next door and tried to throw the knife onto the roof, according to Metro police. The knife was later recovered in the parking lot.

    Smith was charged with two counts of aggravated assault with a deadly weapon. His bond was set at $50,000.

    An Instagram post from the band No Cure said that the two victims were band members. The post said that both of the members were “going to be okay,” though one member required 29 staples in his stomach and 10 stitches in his shin. Another member reportedly suffered from an arterial bleed as a result of the stabbing.

    No additional information was immediately released.
