Franklin County man sentenced to life in prison for 2017 murder

FRANKLIN COUNTY, Tenn. (WKRN) — A Franklin County man will spend the rest of his life in prison for murdering a man in 2017.

Bryan Ray Dudley was sentenced to life in prison plus 35 years for the murder of David Steele, the Franklin County Sheriff’s Office said.

Steele went missing on Oct. 3, 2017, in Tullahoma. His body was discovered a few weeks later in the Spring Creek/UTSI Road area in Franklin County.

An investigation by the Franklin County Sheriff’s Office, Tullahoma Police Department and the Tennessee Bureau of Investigation determined Dudley was involved in Steele’s murder. He was convicted of the murder charge , as well as especially aggravated kidnapping with a weapon and especially aggravated kidnapping with serious bodily injury on Aug. 16, according to District Attorney General Courtney Lynch’s office .
