3 injured after vehicle crashes into Jackson County creek

JACKSON COUNTY, Tenn. (WKRN) — First responders rescued two people from a vehicle that ended up in the water Friday night following a crash near the Jackson County/Macon County line.

According to Jackson County EMS , 911 calls came in at approximately 8:30 p.m. on Friday, Sept. 27 about a crash with injuries along Hudson Creek Highway (State Highway 151), indicating a vehicle went off the road and came to rest in a nearby creek.

Officials said members of Jackson County EMS, the Jackson County Sheriff’s Department, and Tennessee Highway Patrol (THP) arrived at the scene and found two people still trapped inside the vehicle, with moving water near their chests and necks. The medics, deputies, and troopers worked together to rescue both patients from the vehicle and the water.

Meanwhile, Jackson County EMS said a third person had removed himself, along with an uninjured minor, from the vehicle before first responders arrived.

According to officials, emergency personnel treated and transported all three injured patients to Macon Community Hospital. There is no word on the nature of their injuries.

“The quick actions of the first arriving EMS crew, Sheriff’s Deputies, and THP Troopers undoubtedly made a positive difference in the outcome for the victims of this crash,” Jackson County EMS posted on Facebook.
