    Music City Community Court offers support to Davidson County residents

    NASHVILLE, Tenn. (WKRN) — On Saturday, a legal clinic in North Nashville not only offered court services, but also community vendors, outreach groups, and nonprofits to help participants.

    Davidson County General Sessions Judge Rachel Bell held court on Saturday, Sept. 28 as Music City Community Court was set up in North Nashville at New Covenant Christian Church.

    The annual Community Day provides assistance with resources such as food, housing, and jobs.

    The casual atmosphere outside of the courtroom helps Davidson County residents take care of matters like outstanding charges, fines, license suspensions, and expungements.

    The restorative court, founded by Bell, is the first of its kind in Tennessee.

    The program, which is in its 12th year, has some impressive stats. Overall, 50,000 people have benefitted from the program, with Bell saying 92 people received assistance on Saturday.
