HENDERSONVILLE, Tenn. (WKRN) — The Hendersonville Police Department arrested a teen on multiple counts of vehicle burglary with the assistance of a license plate reader (LPR).

According to a Thursday release, Hendersonville police received a report that a 2023 Kia Carnival had been stolen from a residence in a subdivision off Center Point Road. Two other vehicle burglaries had also occurred overnight, police said. The Kia Carnival was later found to have triggered an LPR in Mt. Juliet on Monday.

Upon further investigation, Hendersonville police discovered that the Kia Carnival had been in the same area where the Wilson County Sheriff’s Department was investigating the theft of two other vehicles. After the agencies collaborated, they identified 19-year-old Kendrea Reed from Nashville as a suspect.

The Hendersonville Police Department obtained warrants for Reed on one count of property theft over $10,000 and two counts of vehicle burglary. With the help of the Metro Nashville Police Department (MNPD), Hendersonville police arrested Reed at her Nashville residence without incident.

“The Hendersonville Police urge citizens to remain vigilant and be aware of their surroundings,” a release from the Hendersonville Police Department reads, in part. “If anything, suspicious or unusual is noticed, please contact the Hendersonville Police Department.”
