Giles County man charged with homicide in girlfriend’s death

GILES COUNTY, Tenn. (WKRN) — An arrest was made early Tuesday morning after authorities said a woman was killed in Giles County.

Deputies with the Giles County Sheriff’s Department said they responded to an address off Minor Hill Highway after receiving reports of a homicide.

After further investigation, Allen Keith Word was arrested for allegedly killing his girlfriend, Samantha Bivens.

He was booked into the Giles County Jail on charges of criminal homicide, especially aggravated assault resulting in death and tampering with evidence.

According to the sheriff’s department, Word is being held without bond. Officials did not provide any further information regarding the circumstances of his arrest.

The investigation is ongoing, and the sheriff’s department said more information could be released at a later date.
