NASHVILLE, Tenn. (WKRN) — This week marks eight years since a Middle Tennessee grandmother went missing. Wanda Walker’s blood was found in her vehicle nearly a week after she disappeared, but to this day, she has not been found.

“The grieving will never end because we don’t have answers,” said Quontesa Chambers, Wanda’s granddaughter.

Chambers said many positive memories come to mind when talking about her grandmother. “My grandmother never missed a beat when it came to any of her grandchildren, graduation, birthdays, Halloween parties.”

That’s why it was unusual when Walker’s family didn’t hear from her in October of 2016.

“My mother called me and said we haven’t heard from your grandmother, we don’t know where she is,” Chambers said.

About a week later, Walker’s car was found with a significant amount of her blood.

“Finding my grandmother’s vehicle, finding her blood in the vehicle, it lets us know something happened, something tragic happened,” Chambers said.

Chambers held a march in honor of her grandmother. She’s hoping someone will see them and come forward with information all these years later. “We can’t let another decade, another 20 years, go by and our family not have closure.”

She is hoping for closure in Walker’s case for her and for Walker’s daughter, Laresha.

Walker spoke to News 2 in 1999 after her daughter disappeared. Laresha’s vehicle was also never found. Metro police believe she may have been abducted. She left behind a two-year-old boy.

“It’s been tough for this to be the second person in our family to go missing,” Chambers said.

Detectives believe there is nothing to indicate a connection between the two disappearances. However, family hopes they both can be solved.

“There is hope, I feel like having closure will be the biggest breakthrough ever for our family,” Chambers said.
