NASHVILLE, Tenn. (WKRN) — Nashville authorities are investigating two separate shootings that occurred Thursday night, one of which was deadly.

According to the Metro Nashville Police Department (MNPD), officers were sent to the Avana Overlook apartment complex in the 700 block of Bell Road just before 9 p.m. on Thursday, Oct. 10 for reports of a shooting.

Officials said a 25-year-old resident was taken to Vanderbilt University Medical Center to be treated for critical injuries. At 10:30 a.m. on Friday, Oct. 11, police announced the man had died after arriving at the hospital, adding that a chaplain is working to find and notify his next of kin.

At this point in the investigation, authorities said they believe the victim was planning to sell marijuana to three individuals who came to the apartment. An argument over the price reportedly took place before shots were fired.

Homicide Unit detectives are still working to identify the three suspects, so if you have any information about them, you are asked to contact Nashville Crime Stoppers at 615-742-7463 .  Callers can remain anonymous and may qualify for a cash reward.
