WILLIAMSON COUNTY, Tenn. (WKRN) — Former NFL quarterback Jay Cutler was arrested for driving under the influence in Williamson County late Thursday night.

According to court documents, Cutler tried to flee from the crash site after offering the other driver $2,000 to not call police.

Officers who spoke with Cutler reportedly noticed he had a strong odor of alcohol, was slurring his words and had bloodshot eyes. A rifle was found in Cutler’s backseat and a loaded Glock pistol was located in the center console, according to Franklin police.

He refused field sobriety tests and was taken to a local hospital where a blood sample was obtained through a blood search warrant, according to Franklin police.
