    Teen shot multiple times while riding in vehicle through West Nashville

    NASHVILLE, Tenn. (WKRN) — Authorities are investigating a Friday afternoon shooting in West Nashville that left a teenager in critical condition.

    According to Metro Nashville dispatch, the incident was reported shortly after noon on Friday, Oct. 18 in the 4000 block of Murphy Road.

    The Metro Nashville Police Department said an 18-year-old male was riding in the back seat of a silver Ford sedan along Charlotte Pike near 46th Avenue North as it was followed by a possibly gold Chevy Cruze. Shots were reportedly fired at the Ford as the cars approached the red light.

    Authorities told News 2 the victim was brought to Vanderbilt University Medical Center with multiple gunshot wounds.

    Police announced just after 4 p.m. that the teen was critically injured after this “targeted shooting.” However, the driver of the Ford was not injured, so she fled to Murphy Road and called 911.
