One extremely lucky Illinoisan recently struck gold as part of the state's latest Mega Millions win, claiming a gigantic jackpot.

According to an Illinois Lottery press release, the unnamed individual stopped by Gas Express, located at 501 West 31st Street in Bridgeport last week to purchase a Mega Millions ticket, and the rest was history! The fortunate winner guessed all five numbers correctly (6-23-42-59-63) to claim their prize.

Gas Express owner, Faris Saleh , mentioned that this is not the first time a gas station patron has won big after purchasing a ticket at the store.

"I guess you can say ‘luck is in the air’ at Gas Express in Bridgeport. This is the second big winning lottery ticket we’ve sold at our store this year - a $400,000 Lucky Day Lotto ticket in April and now a $1 million Mega Millions ticket – so exciting!"

The mysterious lottery player is not the only one to benefit from the prize money as the gas express will also receive a bonus just for being the location to sell the ticket. As for what Saleh plans to spend the bonus on , well, he has big plans for the longevity of the gas station.

"My employees and I are hoping that the winner is someone we know, a regular customer. No matter the outcome, I plan to use some of the bonus to celebrate with my employees and use the rest to upgrade my gas station."

The next Mega Millions drawing is slated to take place on Friday (September 13) night!

How come the winning lottery tickets are always in poor or extremely bad neighborhoods?
