  • Good Question: Is it legal to have my license plate in the rear window instead of being mounted on the rear of the car?

    depending on the condition of the vehicle it may not be practical to put the plate in the customary place. also the type of vehicle. on a regular passenger vehicle I've had to wait on a new bumper before and had to have the plate in the window because that's where the plate was mounted and on a commercial vehicle frequently in the past have had to have them front mounted on the front bumper because there was nowhere to mount it on the rear.
