On July 2, Brown led law enforcement from multiple agencies, including the Ingham County Sheriff’s Department, Livingston County Sheriff’s Department, and the Michigan State Police on three separate high-speed chases .

Two of those chases were called off out of concern for the safety of other drivers, Ingham County Sheriff Scott Wriggelsworth told 6 News on July 2.

Shortly after the second chase was terminated, 9-1-1 received a call from a woman who said a man had broken into her home and threatened to kill her if she did not give him the keys to her truck, Wriggelsworth said. She gave him the keys.

Law enforcement located the truck with Brown behind the wheel in Webberville , Wriggelsworth said. n Ingham County deputy followed him while other law enforcement agencies maneuvered into place to detain him.

Instead, he led officers on a chase into Livingston County . There, deputies from the Livingston County Sheriff’s Department deployed a tool commonly called a “Stop Stick” to deflate the tires on the truck, law enforcement said.

The chase ended near Howell when the stolen truck hit another vehicle head-on.
