LANSING, Mich. (WLNS) — Another near-perfect summer day is ahead with increasing clouds and the slight chance for a shower into the afternoon.

While some spots this morning are partly sunny others are seeing mostly cloudy or a milky look to the sky, temperatures right now are in the mid to upper 60s across Mid-Michigan. Temperatures continue to warm up into the low 80s for the day which is pretty close to average for this time of year.

Clouds eventually start to increase late morning and into the afternoon and there is a slight chance for a shower into the mid-afternoon and evening mainly to our north. I do think the majority of us will stay dry but just in case grab an umbrella or raincoat as you head out the door. Tonight temperatures remain mild into the low 60s with partly to mostly cloudy skies.

We are stuck in a rinse and repeat pattern for a few days as a weak system moves into the Great Lakes Region bringing with it the chance for pop-up showers and storms each day.

Showers return to the forecast daily with widespread rain by Wednesday

For Monday we see more clouds than sun with temperatures into the low 80s, as we head into the afternoon and evening we will see some showers start to pop up across the area. Again showers will be hit or miss and I do think most of us will stay dry but just in case grab an umbrella or raincoat as you head out the door. Sunshine and clouds mix for Tuesday as temperatures warm slightly into the low to mid-80s, and the chance of more widespread rain returns Tuesday night into Wednesday. The best day for showers and storms looks to be Wednesday, some of these storms could be on the stronger end.

Quiet conditions return by the end of the week with temperatures into the upper 70s to low 80s. Summerlike heat and possibly humidity return the week after next with highs in the upper 80s and overnight lows into the upper 60s!
