Hot and humid conditions return for the weekend

Lansing, Mich. (WLNS) — We have seen some beautiful conditions over the past several days, and today will be no different. High pressure is still in control of our weather in Mid-Michigan, and that means we still have dry and mostly sunny conditions in the forecast today, along with high temperatures topping out near 77 degrees.

This dry weather pattern will continue for the next several days, with virtually no chance for precipitation over the weekend. However, as our area of high-pressure tracks to the southeast of Mid-Michigan, it will bring a warmer and more humid air mass into the area.

Tomorrow will still be fairly pleasant, with partly cloudy skies and high temperatures in the upper 70s. But, as we move into the weekend, dew point temperatures will climb into the low to mid-60s, and those numbers will continue to climb as we move into early next week. At the same time, high temperatures will reach the mid to upper 80s, but at certain times, it will feel like our temperatures are in the low to mid-90s.

Our latest computer models show hot and humid conditions likely sticking around for much of next week, as temperatures remain above average in the mid to upper 80s. However, as we move into next week, temperatures seem to cool down closer to normal, with highs in the upper 70s to 80 degrees. Our StormTracker 6 Team will continue to provide updates on-air, online, and through the StormTracker 6 Weather App.
