LANSING, Mich. (WLNS) — Some of Michigan’s top leaders spoke at the Democratic National Convention Thursday night, campaigning for Vice President Kamala Harris.

Michigan Representative Elissa Slokin spoke about national security and how former president Donald Trump admires dictators.

Genesee County Sheriff Swanson also took the stage to campaign for Harris. He highlighted the important role police officers have in unifying the community and choosing hope instead of hate.

When Governor Gretchen Whitmer approached the podium, she mentioned how Harris understood the working class and mocked Trump for calling her ‘that woman from Michigan’.
