Marginal risk for severe weather tomorrow

LANSING, Mich. (WLNS) — Dry conditions will continue as we move throughout the rest of the day, with cloud cover slowly decreasing across Mid-Michigan. We are watching a system to our west, which will bring an additional round of rain and potentially strong to severe storms to our area tomorrow afternoon.

The Storm Prediction Center has placed Mid-Michigan in a Level 1 of 5, Marginal Risk for strong to severe storms. The main concern will be isolated strong wind gusts. In addition, there is also a low chance for large hail across the area.

Storms will develop along a cold front, that will move through Mid-Michigan Friday afternoon. Storms will continue into the evening hours, and begin to exit after sunset.

Temperatures on Friday will make it into the upper 80s for highs, with humidity lingering across the area. Thankfully, there is some relief in sight. The cold front producing these showers and thunderstorms will bring cooler and more comfortable conditions into our area for the weekend, with plenty of sunshine and highs in the low 80s to upper 70s.
