U.S. Secretary of Education Miguel Cardona in East Lansing Thursday, continues Back-to-School Tour

LANSING, Mich. (WLNS) — Thursday, U.S. Secretary of Education Miguel Cardona and National Education Association President Becky Pringle will be in East Lansing, Grand Rapids and Detroit to continue the 2024 Back-to-School Bus Tour.

According to The Department of Education, The Back-to-School Tour of 2024 is a multi-state road trip that showcases many ways schools, families, and communities can accelerate student achievement and raise the bar in public education with investments and other support from the Biden-Harris Administration.

The three-week-long tour started in Green Bay, Wisconsin Sept. 3 and continued to Milwaukee, Chicago, Illinois, and La Porte, Indiana.

This week, the tour will continue in Grand Rapids, East Lansing, and Detroit.

Grand Rapids Community College

• Thursday morning, Sept. 5, 9 a.m. and 10 a.m.
• Grand Rapids, Michigan

Glencairn Elementary School

• Thursday morning, Sept. 5, 11:30 a.m.
• East Lansing, Michigan

Cass Technical High School

• Thursday afternoon, Sept. 5, 2 p.m.
• Detroit, Michigan
