Two people killed in Shiawassee County crash

LANSING, Mich. (WLNS) — Michigan State Police confirm two people from Byron were killed in a crash around 9 Tuesday night in Shiawassee County.

The crash happened on Byron Rd near Cole Rd.

Police say a 68-year-old Byron man was driving a 2014 Chevrolet Malibu north on Byron Rd. when he crossed over the centerline and hit a 2011 GMC Sierra pickup truck head-on. He and a 58-year-old female passenger from Byron was also killed.

The driver of the truck, a 53-year-old man from Montrose, was injured in the crash and taken to the hospital in what MSP says is good condition.

The crash remains under investigation.
