Woman injured when truck crashes into East Lansing bookstore

LANSING, Mich. (WLNS) — Police are investigating a truck crashing into the front end of the Curious Book Shop on Grand River across from the Michigan State University campus in East Lansing.

A witness tells 6 News a young woman who was walking down the street when the crash happened was taken away in an ambulance. The witness says the woman was ‘alert and awake,’ and suffered leg injuries.

“It really scared the crap out of me. I was lucky there weren’t any customers inside or anything. I was just here by myself,” said Casey Holland, a witness.”Hearing all that happen and then suddenly seeing the truck. I think I’m still a little bit shaken up about it.”

Police confirmed someone ran from the scene, though it is unclear whether or not it was the driver of the truck.

“So, I don’t really know,” said Isabella Toma, a witness. “She seemed kind of angry and even another girl was walking past me, and I was like woah. What’s going on over there.”
