Woman dies due to car crash near Mt. Pleasant airport

LANSING, Mich. (WLNS) — A woman has died as a result of a two-car crash in Isabella County, county sheriff Michael Main announced Thursday.

The sheriff says that on Monday, deputies responded to a two-car accident at the intersection of Baseline Rd and Leaton Rd at around 4:18.

A 77-year-old woman from Chippewa Township driving a 2019 Subaru failed to stop at a stop sign and pulled out in front of a 2014 Ford pickup truck hauling a trailer. The two vehicles then crashed.

The woman was seriously injured and was transported to the hospital via ambulance. The driver of the truck, a 55-year-old driver from Remus, was not injured.

On Wednesday, the sheriff’s department was notified that the woman had died from injuries sustained in the crash.
