Deputy injured during stolen mail suspect arrest

LANSING, Mich. (WLNS) — Ingham County sheriff deputies arrested a 29-year-old man from Eaton Rapids for stealing mail from mailboxes in Delhi Township around 4 a.m. Tuesday.

Deputies patrolling a neighborhood noticed the man near Featherstone Dr. and Kinglet Ct. Deputies say when they approached the man he tried to run but was captured during a short fight.

During the arrest, an Ingham County deputy injured their shoulder and needed to be treated at a local hospital. No one else was injured during the arrest, according to deputies.
