LANSING, Mich. (WLNS) – In a battle between two of the area’s top boys soccer teams, DeWitt scored twice in the second half to pull away and defeat Lansing Christian 4-1.

In the latest MIHSSCA poll, DeWitt is ranked as the No. 3 team in the state in Div. 2. Meanwhile, Lansing Christian is the No. 1 team in the state in Div. 4

DeWitt got on the board first Thursday night on a goal from Cam French. Lansing Christian evened the score late in the first half with a goal from Owen Andrus. However, DeWitt’s Lukas White scored moments later to give the Panthers the 2-1 halftime lead.

In the second half, the Panthers created separation with goals from Carson Soltis and Owen Zelski.

With the win, DeWitt improves to 13-1-2 on the season. The Panthers won the CAAC Blue championship earlier this week and will play at Dearborn Divine Child on Saturday at 1 p.m.

This was the first loss of the season for Lansing Christian. The Pilgrims fall to 15-1 on the year and will look to bounce back on Saturday at Haslett at 11 a.m.
