Tribute gathering planned for the late Javier Cavazos

LANSING, Mich. (WLNS) – Over the weekend, longtime coach in the Lansing area Javier Cavazos died at the age of 77.

Cavazos coached Lansing youth baseball and basketball at all levels and served as a mentor for many local athletes, such as Lansing legends John Smoltz and Earvin “Magic” Johnson.

On Friday, Oct. 18, at 1 p.m. at ‘The View’ at Jackson Field there will be a tribute to honor Cavazos’ life.
