LANSING, Mich. (WLNS) — A beautiful weekend is ahead in the weather department as we continue to see wall-to-wall sunshine and above-average temperatures.

A strong high-pressure system is once again in control of much of the weather across the eastern United States as we can tell on satellite and radar that there are no clouds from the East Coast all the way to the western side of the Mississippi River! This means that we will continue to see plenty of sunshine and dry weather for the entire weekend and well into the upcoming work week.

If you have any morning plans you might need a light jacket or sweater as temperatures are a little chilly in the upper 30s to low 40s with clear skies. Clear and sunny skies continue today with temperatures warming into the upper 60s to low 70s for Saturday. Overall a fantastic day to check a few fall activities off the fall bucket list like apple picking or seeing some fall foliage.

Temperatures tonight fall back into the mid-40s so if you have plans any evening plans or are planning to go to the homecoming game tonight you might want to bring the jacket as it could be chilly again tonight.

Sundays forecast features more sunshine and slightly warmer temperatures, we start the day off similar to today with cool conditions and gradually warm into the low to mid 70s with plenty of sunshine! Typically this time of year we see temperatures in the upper 50s to low 60s, not this year, we are going to stick with the 70s until at least Tuesday of next week.

A cold front brings the late summer warmth to an end as the slight chance for isolated sprinkles here and there by Wednesday morning, nothing too heavy but enough for us to need the windshield wipers during the morning commute. After the cold front passes temperatures will fall back closer to normal in the upper 50s to low 60s with a few clouds.
