LANSING, Mich. (WLNS) — A new program called Take Control of Your Birth Control will allow Michiganders to access state-funded birth control pills, condoms, emergency contraception, and other resources for free during November as long as supplies last.

At select locations around the state, these products will be available on a first-come-first-served basis and will not require you to provide your insurance information.

More information on where exactly these products will be available will be released in November via an interactive map that will appear here .

“Family planning tools are an essential component of public health all Michigan residents should be able to access,” said Dr. Natasha Bagdasarian, Chief Medical Executive for the state. “We want to make sure that individuals who need and want these tools can easily obtain them, and we are committed to helping people take control of their reproductive health in a way that is both empowered and informed.”

Alongside these supplies, the program will also provide information on family planning and how to apply for family planning coverage through Medicaid and the Plan First program as the system for open enrollment.
