LANSING, Mich. (WLNS) — The Meridian Township Police Department has confirmed that a threat that put Haslett schools on lockdown Friday was a hoax.

Police say Friday morning, they received a call of a potential threat of a shooting somewhere in Clinton County. While investigating, the phone call was traced to the Marsh and Central Park area.

Out of caution, schools in Haslett were placed on lockdown while they investigated—and determined that the threats were not credible.

All lockdowns were lifted at around noon.

Police note that there were no specific threats to any schools or businesses in Meridian Township.
