Two-year-old killed by Ocean City boardwalk tram

A two-year-old boy was struck and killed by a tram on the Ocean City Boardwalk Tuesday night.

It happened around 8:14pm near Dorchester Street.

Police said the toddler was hit while crossing the southbound tram lane of the boardwalk.

The child died on scene. Their name was not released. Both tram conductors remained on scene.

Ocean City's Traffic Safety Unit is leading an investigation into the cause of the crash.
