Police have made an arrest in a June 14 Brooklyn murder.

That morning the body of Dennis Edmonds was discovered wrapped in carpet in the backseat of his Dodge Charger near the Myers Soccer Pavilion off West Bay Avenue.

He'd been shot in the head.

Detectives began digging into Edmonds' phone which revealed he last called a number linked to a man named Gregory Barnes.

Investigators got a tip that Edmonds sold cocaine. Barnes knew Edmonds because he reportedly helped him cook the cocaine, and turn it into crack.

Cell phone tower records indicate Edmonds and Barnes were together at a home on Elmtree Street just hours before he was found dead.

Detectives visited the home to find it vacant, but noticed fresh blood and a missing piece of carpet.

    Blood testing matched with Edmonds.

Police believe Barnes robbed Edmonds at the Elmtree home, then shot him in the head.

Area surveillance suggests Barnes stuffed Edmonds inside the Dodge and drove to West Bay Avenue where he abandoned the body and car.

Online court records show Barnes was arrested last December in connection to a domestic related shooting. The outcome of that case is unclear.

🎶 friends, how many of us have them 🎵 . they should have put that bastard away the first time, then he would not have been able to kill or injure again

Such a shock that he shot someone after he was let out after another shooting. That's only his last 2 arrests. What else has he done previously? When are people going to stop voting the same soft on crime politicians into office and hold some of these judges accountable? He will probably end up making another plea deal and the state will accept his excuses because after all he only killed a drug dealer and it will continue to happen.
