    Governor Ron DeSantis appoints new School Board member of Okaloosa County

    OKALOOSA COUNTY, Fla. ( WMBB ) – On Friday, Governor Ron DeSantis appointed a new School Board member.

    Brett Hinely of Niceville was named the School Board of Okaloosa County. Hinely is set to begin on August 2, 2024, according to a news release.

    Hinely is the President of Cove Marine, Inc. and Bluewater High & Dry. He is also the Director of Marina Cove Realty, LLC, and Freedom Distributions, LLC.

    Hinely is a veteran of the United States Air Force and a member of the Eglin Air Force Armament Museum Foundation Board of Directors. He has earned his bachelor’s degree in applied mathematics from Auburn University.
