    Indian Pass Road closed due to traffic crash

    Update : A white Honda Odyssey was driving North on Indian Pass Road just north of Painted Pony Road. The driver, a 27-year-old Port Saint Joe man, attempted to remove a cell phone from his pocket causing them to travel off the right side of the roadway.

    This caused the driver to hit a 72-year-old Wewahitchka man who was fishing, according to FHP.

    The Wewahitchka man has passed away. This is an ongoing investigation.

    GULF COUNTY, Fla. ( WMBB ) – Indian Pass Road from CR 30A to Painted Pony Road is closed to all traffic at this time, according to the Gulf County Sheriff’s Office.

    GCSO is on the scene of an accident on Indian Pass Road between a vehicle and a pedestrian involving a fatality. Officials said if you must access the area, drivers may detour using Painted Pony Road.

    No other information has been provided at this time. FHP will be investigating the crash.
